CIKM 2017: The 26th ACM International Conference
on Information and Knowledge Management
6 - 10 November 2017, Singapore

============================================================
The Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM) provides a unique venue for industry and academia to present and discuss state-of-the-art research on search and discovery, data mining and database systems, all at a single conference. CIKM’17 comes to Singapore on Nov 6-10, 2017, with the theme of Smart Cities, Smart Nations. Lying at the intersection of databases, information retrieval and knowledge management, CIKM is uniquely placed to highlight technologies and insights that materialize the “Smart Cities, Smart Nations” vision shared by many urban areas and their countries.

Topics of Interest
------------------
We encourage submissions of high quality research papers on all topics in the general areas of databases, information retrieval, and knowledge management. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
* Data and information acquisition and preprocessing (e.g., data crawling, IoT data, data quality, data privacy)
* Integration and aggregation (e.g., semantic processing, data provenance, data warehousing, privacy and security, modelling)
* Infrastructures (e.g., cloud computing, data intensive computing, database systems, indexing and compression, search engine architectures)
* Special data processing (e.g., multilingual text, stream, spatiotemporal, multimedia, scientific, & social media data)
* Integration of knowledge structures (e.g., natural language processing, speech recognition, computer vision, exploiting external sources)
* Analysis (e.g., OLAP, data mining, machine learning, scalable analysis algorithms, event detection and tracking, deep neural networks)
* Information access and retrieval (e.g., ad hoc and web search, question answering and dialogue systems, retrieval models, query processing, personalization, recommender and filtering systems)
* Data presentation (e.g., visualization, summarization, readability, VR, speech output)
* Users and interfaces for information and data systems (e.g., user behavior analysis, user interface design, personalization, interactive analysis, mobile computing, spoken interfaces)
* Crowd sourcing and exploitation of online resources
* Evaluation (e.g., online and offline evaluation, study of best practices)
* Applications (e.g., urban systems, biomedical and health informatics, security, business intelligence, crisis informatics, computational social science, data-enabled discovery, social media, recall-oriented search)

Paper Submissions
-----------------
Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished full-length and short research papers that are not previously published, accepted to be published, or being considered for publication in any other forum. Full-length papers should satisfy the standard requirements of top-tier international research conferences. Short papers should describe interesting ongoing work, new discoveries and insights, or summaries of significant projects, and be material that is suited to poster presentation.
Manuscripts should be submitted to CIKM’17’s Easychair site in PDF format, using the ACM camera-ready templates. Full papers cannot exceed 10 pages and short papers cannot exceed 4 pages. Rejected full papers will not be considered for publication as short papers. Paper review will be double-blind, and submissions not properly anonymized may be rejected without review. At least one author of each accepted paper must present the work as scheduled in the conference program, which may include both oral presentation and poster sessions.
