PhD position in reinforcement learning and multi-agent reinforcement learning at the University of Edinburgh.
The successful applicants will join the University of Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt University, and Leonardo Ltd, one of the UK's leading aerospace companies and one of the biggest suppliers of defence and security equipment to the UK. The project will be a part of the Leonardo Prosperity Partnership, a £3.3m partnership which seeks to address state-of-the-art design and engineering challenges. The applicant will be supervised by Dr. Stefano V. Albrecht and Dr. Ignacio Carlucho, and will work on topics related but not limited to:
Robotics and autonomous systems
Reinforcement learning
Multi-agent reinforcement learning
Funding
The offer includes a stipend higher than the standard UK Research Council rate (£20,716 per year) for 3.5 years and covers the full cost of tuition fees as well as an allowance for research-related travel.
Eligibility
Applicants should have a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in robotics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field. These studentships are only available to students who do NOT require an ATAS certificate to study in the UK. More information here.
