Postdoctoral position at UCSD

Hi folks -

We have four postdoctoral positions, one of them in machine learning in my
lab, to work on image recognition for Natural Products research. The
machine learning piece has to do with taking NMR spectra of natural
compounds and mapping them into a space where nearby compounds have nearby
structures, using convolutional siamese networks. We are looking eventually
to map the NMR spectra directly to SMILES strings, which specify the
structure of the molecule, using image captioning techniques. Obviously,
experience in deep learning for vision applications is essential, but
knowledge of organic chemistry, NMR techniques, and/or natural product
research would be helpful, A strong publication record in deep learning
should be in evidence for successful applicants.

The position is available immediately, and will be for two years initially.
