POSTDOC POSITION on Continual Learning for Foundation Models

We are seeking a postdoc to join the Learning and Machine Perception (LAMP) team in beautiful Barcelona.  The LAMP team is part of the Computer Vision Center at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona; the CVC is a center with over 100 persons working on computer vision and machine learning research. 

The position is for 2-3 years. The position is focused on ‘Continual Learning for Foundation Models’ where the aim is to adapt foundation models to new tasks without forgetting previous knowledge. The focus of the project can be defined in collaboration with the supervisor, with potential avenues including optimization aspects, parameter-efficient adaptation methods, model merging theory, multi-modal continual learning, or adaptation to open-world scenarios.

CANDIDATE ’S PROFILE
The candidate should possess a PhD at the time of enrollment, and have a strong publication record (NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, CVPR, etc).. The candidate should have a background in machine learning and deep learning. The applicants are expected to be fluent in both oral and written communication in English. They should work well in a team while demonstrating initiative and independence. The candidate is expected to supervise PhD students.

FUNDING CONDITIONS

Living allowance of 31-35k€/year (gross salary) depending on experience.
