Fully funded PhD positions are available starting Fall 2024 or Spring 2025 in multi-agent reinforcement learning, explainable AI, and multi-objective optimization. The focus of the project is on the development of explainable reinforcement learning models for multi-agent systems. Research will be conducted in the Unmanned Systems Lab, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).

Position description:
required
- a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related fields;
- strong background in mathematics and programming;
- excellent writing and communication skills;
- experience in reinforcement learning.

preferred
- master’s degree
- experience in explainable AI and multi-objective optimization
- demonstrated research experience via, e.g., publications
