2 PhD positions in Science at University of Geneva, Faculty of Medicine - start January 2023

Two multidisciplinary projects in Medical Data Science aiming to leverage multimodal medical data to develop innovative models for medical diagnosis and knowledge discovery :

• HERO project: The aim of the PhD project is to automatically identify groups of patients expressing protective factors and their shields. The candidate should be able to apply and develop statistical and probabilistic data science approaches, such as semantics and machine learning, to generate knowledge based on the clinical phenotype of patients, and specifically to uncover situations where patterns of conditions do not correlate with patterns of consequences.

• PHILEAS project: Development of predictive models for the diagnostic of Pulmonary Hypertension based on ECG signals. The candidate should have a keen interest in developing fundamental and interdisciplinary research at the forefront between AI and medical research. The two core research topics will be: (1) develop foundational AI research to improve the classification of time series; (2) clinical predictions models focusing on ECG signals with additional multimodal variables.

3.       Second interview in Geneva or zoom within one month after application.

4.       Final decision before 1st of December 2022.

5.       Beginning of PhD January 2023 at latest.
