** PhD proposal “Internet of things assisted by drones” **

INESC TEC is offering a PhD grant, with enrolment fees covered during the period of the grant.

This is an exciting project in the crossroads between machine learning, communications and automatic maintenance. The PhD will focus on the development of novel Machine Learning techniques applied in systems/networks research, which includes, but is not limited to, deep reinforcement learning, federated learning, deep learning and meta learning. The overall aim is to improve the efficiency in cyber-physical systems, such as drone swarms, that support 5G, smart farming, smart cities, and intelligent transportations.

The work will be carried out within a larger team with different Machine Learning and Computer Science expertise. The work is part of the new project Adanet, done in collaboration with the real-time systems lab Cister.
