Hi everyone,

It is to inform you all about the ELLIS reading group on mathematics/theory of deep learning that generally convenes on Tuesday afternoon every two to three weeks. We discuss topics like loss landscape, over-parameterization, generalization, etc., and we generally invite the authors to present their papers. In the past, we have had speakers from Berkeley, EPFL, Princeton, etc. talk about their work.

Tomorrow, for instance, Stanislav Fort (Stanford) and Balaji Lakshminarayanan (Google Brain) will present their work on "Deep Ensembles - A Loss Landscape Perspective" at 7 pm CET.

Those who are interested in this theme and would like to know more or remain updated about the upcoming talks can join the (public) google group https://groups.google.com/g/ellis-mathematics-of-deep-learning/ (you can simply write a short line about your interest and affiliation when you send the request to join).

Cheers,
Sidak Pal Singh
