Details:

GIMP3 (GIMP - GNU Image Manipulation Program) will be released soon which supports Python 3. I wish to include a large number of AI models in GIMP through Python plugins. 

Earlier GIMP-ML was built for GIMP 2.10 which had several limitations due to Python 2. However, with the new version those limitations have been removed and I have created a new branch for development along with a Slack group for collaboration.  With this new branch, I also plan to make GIMP-ML a python package for deep learning model inference. The aim is to bridge the gap between people professionally editing photos and computer vision researchers.

 

I would like people working on Computer vision models to contribute to the open source development of GIMP-ML (kritiksoman/GIMP-ML at GIMP3-ML (github.com)).
