Dear all,

**Apologies for cross-posting**

The PEARL Lab at the Technical University of Darmstadt, led by Prof. Georgia Chalvatzaki, is now inviting applications for PhD and Postdoctoral positions funded by the ERC Starting Grant Project SIREN (Structured Interactive Perception and Learning for Holistic Robotic Embodied Intelligence).

About SIREN
This project addresses core challenges in developing robotic intelligence for the real world at scale by integrating structured perception and learning to enhance the interactive capabilities of robots with their environments so that robots become adaptive and robust.  In the first steps of the project, the focus will be on developing multi-sensory perception and robust dynamics models aimed explicitly at real-world applications involving humanoid mobile manipulation robots.

Positions Available:

  • PhD Positions: Candidates with a strong background in robotics, machine learning, or related fields are welcome to apply. Experience with perception, control, or representation learning is a plus.
  • Postdoctoral Positions: Applicants should have a proven research record in robotic learning, dynamics modeling, or interdisciplinary research, ideally with a strong publication background.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct high-impact research in robotics.
  • Develop advanced algorithms for interactive perception and control.
  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Publish in top-tier robotics and AI conferences and journals.

What We Offer:

  • Opportunity to work on a groundbreaking ERC-funded project.
  • Access to state-of-the-art robotics facilities.
  • A vibrant, interdisciplinary research environment at PEARL Lab, TU Darmstadt.
  • Competitive salary (E13 TV-L) and benefits.

Application Deadline: November 18, 2024
