Fully-funded PhD position for UK/EU candidate in Autonomous
Agents and Multi-Agent Systems (School of Informatics, University
of Edinburgh)
We are seeking an exceptional UK/EU candidate for a fully-funded PhD
position within the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh (
https://www.ed.ac.uk/informatics).
The successful candidate will conduct research in the areas of
artificial
intelligence, autonomous agents, and multi-agent systems,
under the supervision of Dr. Stefano Albrecht. The project will be
based on a recent survey on the topic of "Autonomous Agents
Modelling Other Agents" (
https://arxiv.org/abs/1709.08071)
and will involve systematic analysis and comparison of agent
modelling algorithms.
Candidate requirements: Master's degree (or equivalent) in
computer science, artificial intelligence, applied mathematics, or
related field. Top grades, excellent programming skills, and the
ability to work independently are essential. A background in
artificial intelligence and machine learning is desirable.
Funding: This is a University of Edinburgh funded award and
will provide an annual stipend for 3.5 years (approx. £14,777 per
year, subject to confirmation), plus University fees for UK/EU
students.
