Greetings,

We are pleased to announce the First International Workshop on Grounding Documents with Reasoning, Agents, Retrieval, and Attribution (RARA), to be held November 12, 2025, in conjunction with IEEE Conference on Data Mining (ICDM) 2025 in Washington DC.

The RARA Workshop addresses the challenges of processing complex, multi-modal documents in the era of Large Language Models—where reasoning across sections, linking diverse evidence, and ensuring source traceability are essential. We focus on advancing document understanding through ReasoningAgentsRetrieval, and Attribution.

Topics of Interest include:

  • Complex Reasoning: Multi-hop inference, logical consistency, ambiguity resolution.

  • Agent Architectures: Multi-agent coordination, tool-augmented document processing.

  • Document-Specific Agents: Fact-checking, citation verification, table/chart interpretation, summarization.

  • Domain-Specific Processing: Legal, financial, healthcare, academic, and government documents.

  • RAG and Advanced Retrieval: Dense/sparse retrieval, retrieval-augmented generation, cross-document synthesis.

  • Attribution Mechanisms: Source tracing, confidence calibration, claim verification.

  • Multi-Modal Processing: Charts, tables, diagrams, infographics, forms.

  • Document Structure: Layout analysis, semantic segmentation, hierarchical modeling.

  • Benchmarks & Evaluation: Datasets, metrics, and evaluation frameworks.

Website & Submission Details: https://raraworkshop.github.io

Important Dates:

  • Submission Deadline: August 29, 2025

  • Notification: September 15, 2025

  • Camera-ready: September 25, 2025

  • Workshop: November 12, 2025

We invite you to submit original research and join the discussion on grounding documents with robust reasoning, retrieval, and attribution methods.
