The particular research topic is flexible and will be in areas of mutual interest in Deep Learning. Topics include, but are not limited to: computer vision; generative modeling; understanding and explaining deep neural networks; improving model reliability and security; or combining deep learning and evolutionary algorithms. The lab has previously won Best Paper Awards at CVPR, GECCO, ICML Visualization workshop and Best Research Video Awards at IJCAI and AAAI. Our work has also been repeatedly featured in MIT Technology Review, Nature, Scientific American and deep learning lectures across various institutions.
Auburn is a small, friendly college town, a home for many types of outdoor activities, with a population around 60,000. It is near many major cities: 60 miles from Montgomery, Alabama; 30 miles from Columbus, Georgia; and 100 miles from Atlanta, Georgia. One also can hit the ocean in less than 4 hours.
