The Data Innovation team of UniCredit is looking for a talented and motivated Research Data Scientist to join its lab in Milan.


The Data Innovation team, part of the Group Data Science & Artificial Intelligence department, acts as an experimental laboratory for working on innovative ideas that are of interest to the banking industry, in the macro-areas of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/Data Science/Computer Science.

The experience we offer to you:

- You will be part of an innovation industrial-research lab

- You will work with experienced colleagues on real-world industrial projects, as well as core fundamental-research problems

- You will also be encouraged to:

- work on scientific papers

- propose and work on your own topics/projects

Key tasks and responsibilities

- get involved in applied-research initiatives, to support business processes and needs

- conduct impactful fundamental research

- contribute to prototype and internal-tool development

- interact with business counterparts to gather requirements and feedback

- produce high-quality scientific outputs, such as conference papers and journal articles in top-tier venues

Qualification Requirements

- Strong education in any of the following: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or related disciplines

- Ms. Degree in one of the above (or related) fields is required, PhD is highly desirable

- A strong experience in applied Natural Language Processing and Deep Learning is required

- Example of topics the candidate is required to work on include (but are not limited to):(Algorithmic) Data Science, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Graph Mining, (Financial) Time-Series Analysis, Databases, Computer Vision

- Established publication record is a plus

- Strong and reliable programming skills

- Willingness to learn new concepts and technologies

- Team-working

- Creativity and excellent personal skills

- Excellent proficiency in English (written and spoken)
