We invite applications for a two-year postdoctoral research fellow position, and 2 PhD positions to work on Bias and Fairness in Natural Language Processing. The research will involve systematic quantification of biases across NLP applications, and development of novel methods for mitigating bias, drawing on techniques from adversarial machine learning and probabilistic graphical modeling.

The ideal candidates will have a demonstrated interest in both natural language processing and machine learning, and a  strong motivation to deliver excellent research outcomes. The project will be supervised by Prof Tim Baldwin, Prof Trevor Cohn and Dr Lea Frermann.

We’re  excited to invite applications from researchers passionate about natural language processing and fair machine learning to join us as colleagues at Australia’s premier university, situated in one of the world’s most liveable cities.

Application  deadline: Mar 30, 2020 (Australian Eastern Daylight Time, UTC+11)
