Are you ready to join our mission to combine the best of biostatistics and artificial intelligence? Do you want to lead and grow a group of method experts who are shaping the field of medical data science and equipping collaborators with transformative tools?
We are looking to expand our leadership team following successful initiatives of the Institute of Medical Biometry and Statistics (IMBI, University of Freiburg, Germany; https://www.uniklinik-freiburg.de/imbi-en.html) in biostatistics and related fields, such as AI for small data (via our lead in the Collaborative Research Center “Small Data”, https://www.smalldata-initiative.de), routine clinical and observational data (e.g. via our lead in the STRATOS initiative, https://stratos-initiative.org), and integration/synthesis of heterogeneous research data (e.g. via the German Medical Informatics Initiative, https://www.medizininformatik-initiative.de/en/). The post holder will lead an independent research team, develop a program in these or related topics, and expand our collaborative network for translating method development into breakthroughs in biomedical knowledge to improve treatment and care. In addition, being part of one of Germany's leading university medical centers means strong support for group and individual career development, in a beautiful city with a high quality of life.
Postdocs with a strong background and research interest in data analysis, modeling, or AI methods that advance biomedical research, and with experience in supervision and third-party funding are invited to apply. Please send your application to bemb.i...@list.uniklinik-freiburg.de, including a CV (detailing major publications, accomplishments, research grants, and awards), a research plan (outlining your interests for future research, max. 2 pages), and contact information for two academic referees.
The position is initially funded for 4 years (starting date: April 2024, salary level at German TV-L E14 or E15, depending on qualification), with an option for a permanent position.
For further inquiries, please contact Prof. Dr. Harald Binder (harald...@uniklinik-freiburg.de).
Deadline: January 31, 2024 (the application may be closed early should an appropriate candidate be found).
