libxml2

[LuMiWa]

On FreeBSD-14.3-RELEASE-p8 I have installed libxml2 which was updated.
I ran "pkg autoremove" and it wants to remove libxml2:

pkg autoremove
Checking integrity... done (0 conflicting)
Deinstallation has been requested for the following 1 packages:
Installed packages to be REMOVED:
libxml2: 2.15.1
Number of packages to be removed: 1
The operation will free 6 MiB.
Proceed with deinstalling packages? [y/N]: N

Is safe to delete, please? I have installed aslo libxml2-core.

Unfortunately, there's been a lot of back and forth lately with libxml2, including commits, reverts, refactors and de-refactors.

Have a look at https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=291316

Any of the committers involved should be able to answer your question.
