Hello,

I want to have only inet4 on my WLAN interface and have in
/etc/rc.conf concerning the interface:

wlans_ath0="wlan0"
ifconfig_wlan0="WPA SYNCDHCP"
ip6addrctl_enable="NO"
ipv6_network_interfaces="none"
ipv6_activate_all_interfaces="NO"
ifconfig_wlan0_ipv6="NO"

but the interface comes up as:

# ifconfig wlan0
wlan0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500
options=0
ether 9c:d2:1e:85:72:79

How can I disable inet6 completely or at least temporary?

Thanks

matthias

Have you looked at /etc/defaults/rc.conf? Search for "ipv6" and "ip6".
Also, there's some information in the Handbook, mixed in with other
networking information -- for example, in section 7.3.

remove or comment out the last line

# ifconfig_wlan0_ipv6="NO"
