I figured it out ! i cant believe it. so remember one of my hosts keep
dropping from network neighborhood? well

i went and made sure all of the software was correct many times and one
host keeps disappearing from network neighborhood.

it wasnt software at all!  i been beating my brain for a week....

whatever you do dont use those cheap single port 10GB network cards with
the "experimental" driver called realtek-rge0-kmod package.

i dont know if its the driver or hardware but I installed it to save on
wattage, its a NAS and the dual intel card pulls over 10 watts compared
to 2 for the rge card.

swapped card edited rc.conf to reflect and voila no more disappearing acts.

may send something to the rge driver dude, maybe he can fix it.

Various protocols can be used for that, e.g. NetBIOS, LLMNR,
WS-Discovery. Please check which is being used.

I have doubt that the network driver is the issue, although it might be
if multicast handling is broken.
