Seriously, though, you always have to ask the people who make something.

I recently bought a new manufactored "classic" electric guitar from the
U.S. To be able to recognize this "classic" by its sound at all, I
ordered different pickups right from the start. In this case, it’s
certainly a marketing ploy to sell more. In the case of software, it’s a
matter of demand and the manpower available for maintenance.

devel/mingw32-gcc: upstream release was in 2015 and mingw32 project is
defunct
devel/mingw32-bin-msvcrt: last upstream release in 2014, project defunct
devel/mingw32-zlib: last upstream release in 2014, project defunct
devel/mingw32-libyaml: last upstream release in 2014, project defunct
devel/mingw32-libffi: last upstream release in 2014, project defunct
devel/mingw32-pthreads: last upstream release in 2012, project defunct
devel/mingw32-pdcurses: last upstream release in 2009, project defunct
devel/mingw32-openssl: upstream reached EOL, project defunct
devel/mingw32-directx: last upstream release in 2002, project "more or
less dead"
math/mingw32-libgmp: broken for more than a year

The first deletion actually occurred in 21st Nov 2023 (commit 8e462bd by
Rene Ladan).

The intended replacement path is mingw-w64, which is actively maintained
and supports both Win32 and Win64

[root@laptop /usr/ports]# ls -d */ming*

i have newest ports.


Fortunately i found already installed mingw32 and used pkg create to move
it to my laptop, and to have a backup
