root@BigNAS:/etc/pkg # uname -a
FreeBSD BigNAS 15.0-STABLE FreeBSD 15.0-STABLE

my FreeBSD.conf file
# To disable a repository, instead of modifying or removing this
file,
# create a /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/FreeBSD.conf file, e.g.:
#
# mkdir -p /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos
# echo "FreeBSD-ports: { enabled: no }" >
/usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/FreeBSD.conf
# echo "FreeBSD-ports-kmods: { enabled: no }" >>
/usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/FreeBSD.conf
#
# Note that the FreeBSD-base repository is disabled by default.

i seen this on AI i believe but not working
pkgbase,
create
a temporary repository override directory or edit /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/FreeBSD.conf.
Set the FreeBSD-base
URL to use the appropriate base_release_1
or version-specific endpoint and bypass strict OS version checks
using the appropriate pkg
command flags. [1,
2,
3]mkdir
/tmp/upgrade-15.1echo
'FreeBSD-base: { url:
"pkg+https://pkg.freebsd.org/${ABI}/base_release_1" }'
> /tmp/upgrade-15.1/upgrade.conf
anyone know the correct way to do this? its been a long time since i upgraded freebsd , it was way back when i did from source by cd /usr/src/sys/i386/conf and make , and make buildkernel KERNCONF=mykernelxxx
things change over time so im behind on the newer changes.
thanks
