I am setting up a new FreeBSD 15.1 server from scratch, an actual physical 1U server.

Should I install from distribution sets or packages? I realize that packages are
the future, but when you boot from a USB stick and get to that point in the
install it says packages are "technology preview" which is a bit daunting.

TIA,
John

I use them and didn't encounter any issue yet. It is planned to remove
distribution set support with FreeBSD 16 according to the documentation.

on my last few from-scratch installs i used packages. it'll be painful to upgrade to the next rev, but soooo easy to install patchrevs. no regrets.
