1) Read other e-mails before posting. You should include 550D in the subject.
2) Use paragraphs.
3) ML for 1.0.9 is still under development. There are some pre-release
versions here on the mailing list, but they are published for testing
by experienced users, not for novices. There are also unofficial
builds floating around (other people get the code from the repository,
build it and publish it online). Again, if you are lucky, they work,
if you are not, they cause problems.
4) blinking: known bug, I don't know how to fix it yet.
5) audio disappeared: it did happen today while trying to fix some
other issues.
6) There is a user manual. Find it. When ML for 1.0.9 will be
released, it will have a link from the main page.
7) Try each function and see how it works.

"again, bug in google groups when changing subject?" sorry I didn't
get it, what does it mean? sorry for my incompetence I will learn.
I've just saw that audio menu now it's complete, what I did? I deleted
all the files in the sd card and copied it again. thanks for your help

I've just realise that when I take off the card and insert it again
that audio menu goes back then when I swtich the camera on and off
disappear, so the workaround is then to pull the sd off and put it
back on. Strange isn't it? Anyway with it's complications this
firmware it is great and I love the cinemascope marks the focus
measurement the zooming values and the histogram. the only thing
annoys me is the fact that the writing appear all the time you turn
the camera on and you have to push the playback and then again the
photo button to get it right. any workarouund for that?

Hold the shutter or the * button for a few seconds and it should disappear.
