Hi Guys,
I'm shooting since 2010 with my 60d using the audiotrack for smpt-
timecode. As you know, there are some benefits for disabling
soundrecording (much higher data-rate, less buffer overflows....)
But if I do so, there is no sync to my audio-machine. Now i've seen,
that the 5dM3 has a timecode feature, but it seems useless to me.
A real cool feature, which in my mind only can ML bring in for all
EOSs, is the read-out of audio-timecode, without soundrecording in
camera, and putting the timestamp into the .thm-file (or movie-header
for 60d) or even better into a right timecodetrack inside the .MOV.
I talked a lot with a dutch programmer, who invented some apps to
create timecode from .thm-files or a real timecodetrack out of the
smtp-rattle-audio-tracks which helps many users who work with non-
highend gear, that do not support real timecode. Maybe this guy can
help us to figure out, how to analyse the incoming audio to see time-
information in it and to implement it into the .MOV-files.
His name is Bouke and his website with the programs you can find
here:
www.videotoolshed.com
Does anyone (especially you alex) have an idea, if it would be
possible to process the incoming audio that way, without recording it?
It would be GREAT!
=)
so long, all the best,
Jan
