Hi,
This is very interesting story . if you have read in English difficulties. I request you to read the Tamil version.
In olden days 6TH Century to 19th century we were reading Sanskrit by using Grantham script
For the past couple of weeks. I visited mamallapuram along with my father .I saw a Grantham script .I checked with my father. My father told that these are all ancient before Tamil script.
I searched internet and also surprising reading the Grantham script .
Tamil speakers in south Indian particularly Tamil Nadu & Kerala between 6th century to 19th century to write Sanskrit and classical Manipravalam they are using Grantham script. I believed that Tamil is a pure language. I know Tamil lacks (kha, ga, gha ,cha ja jha etc).Hence we are unable to spell the Sanskrit (Hindi script).in order to avoid distance olden days they (Tamil Nadu and Kerala :- Tamil speaker) used as Grantham script .Now a day’s orthodox Tamil speaking Hindus to write the Sanskrit portion of wedding invitation and also Traditional Vedic schools (Vedapadasala) are using Grantham script .Moreover modern form of Grantham script is very similar to modern Tamil script (letter sri, sha ksa ha 'ஸ', 'ஜ', 'க்ஷ', 'ஷ' ,'ஸ்ரீ' taken from Grantham only
Inscription in Grantha Script, Mutharaiyar Chiefs.
9th Century CE, Sendalai, Thanjavur Dist
Grantham script in modern form
)
Note: If you have interested above attached Grantham script . please forward to the mail every one.
Best regards,
