Dear Sir,

Today we have visited four PIA’s to understand their difficulties in updating the MIS.

·         Madhyam Foundation

·         SODI

·         ORRISSA

·         Harsha Trust

The major problem for not uploading the data into the MIS application is that, the data is not ready with them in the desired format. Some work needs to be done which the PIAs have not done.

There is absolutely no issues in uploading the excel files into the MIS application.

During the discussion with ORRISSA we found that they are having almost all the data with required information with them. With little modification their data’s are converted in the desired format and uploaded into the MIS application. As of now 100 Mahila Kisan records were updated in the MIS application for ORRISSA. The same can be observed in the reports.

Currently ORRISSA is preparing the photographs with the ID to be updated into the MIS. Not only 500 Mahila Kisan Data’s we expect that ORRISSA can update the records of more than 3000 Mahila Kisans before 31st May.

It is the willingness of the PIAs to do the task. And a little pressure from NRLM would certainly help.

As of now the PIAs have not started entering data into the MIS application.

We are constantly following up with them for the same.

If one more directive can be given from NMMU, it would certainly help and fast-track the process.

Dear Vivek,

We had a discussion with one of the PIA today (LAVS), they assured us that they were having all the data.

I would propose, that we should wait until they enter the data into the MIS application.

We are in constant touch with the PIAs to help them enter data’s into the MIS application.

Also it can be assumed that, even if 1 PIA is able to successfully enter data into the MIS application, the other PIAs should also follow with some mandate from NMMU. We can take the final call on the modifications after 30th May 2015.

Dear Alok Sir,

Can MIS section on MKSP website (http://mksp.in/) be linked to the MIS currently hosted at CSMPL?

If you can put me in touch with the concerned person, I can get this done. This will help PIAs find the MIS and login into it easier.

Thank you.

Hi Satyabrata,

Regarding your query #5, can you please share hosting requirements of the MIS (HW, SW, BW, license, etc.) so we start acting on them at an earliest.

It would be good if you could also mention the kind of access you would require to maintain the MIS.

This exercise will help us understand that when the MIS eventually becomes part of the NRLM MIS, what are our viable hosting options.

Thank you.

Dear Vivek,

We have made the following arrangements for the training program of the PIA;

1.       We have developed a excel template to be shared with OLM today to get the details of the PIA and project. The same would be updated into the MIS application before training.

2.       K K Jha Sir have already instructed OLM to inform the PIA’s to bring MK data’s along with their laptops for data entry.

3.       As stated by you complete handholding would be provided to the PIA’s during the training.

4.       Regarding the excel sheet not having the demographic information. It is actually not required, because the system will identify automatically from the village name, other demographic details.

5.       We would also request you to kindly provide the domain name, which would be registers to host the MIS application.

Hi Satyabrata,

Thank you for sending them to us. We will take it forward.

Regarding training agenda, I would suggest you make the training session more hands-on. I think it will be more effective if we let PIAs interact with the MIS right there instead of just lecturing them.

For this we should do certain things:

1.

Register all seven PIAs before the training. Coordinate with Krishnakant Sir regarding this.

2.

PIAs can be requested to bring their MK data to the training

3.

For the hands-on session, we can have around 4-5 computers for PIAs to use

4.

In the hands-on session PIAs will:

i) Interact with the MIS

ii) Download the MK data excel format

iii) Transfer their own MK data (paper, Excel, etc.) to the prescribed MK data Excel format

iv) Upload MK data in the MIS. Add/edit/delete MK data.

vi) Learn to install and use the mobile application (add/edit/delete data entry users, add/edit/delete MK data in online and offline mode, etc.)

What I have listed here is not exhaustive and I am sure you will come up with things to make the session more experiential and fun.

Regarding Excel formats:

KisanExcel.xls

1) There are no demographic fields except Village

2) When I login as a Project User, demographic data is not pre-filled

Hope this makes sense.

Thank you.

Hi Satyabrata,

As you are aware that the training is scheduled to happen on the 20th, I would request you to please share the format and agenda of the training by the close of business today so all PIAs can be intimidated immediately and the training venue can be arranged.

Like discussed yesterday, also share all Excel and print formats at an earliest today.

Thank you.

Dear All,

I have drafted a plan to take the MIS to a successful implementation, based on our discussion yesterday.

Considering data entry challenges PIAs might face, there would be three routes that MK data can be entered or ported; 1. Paper (MKC) to the MIS, 2. Excel to the MIS, and 3. Mobile Application to the MIS. These three routes are crucial to ease the data entry process for the PIAs and should be documented in the training material and duly covered during the training session.

We are planning to roll out the MIS to all the PIAs starting next month.
