Over the past 33 years, we have been serving our community through programs like Quran Quest & Seerah Quest, youth mentoring, summer camps, weekly halaqas, and educational classes with Imam Fuad. Now, it’s time to take the next big step: Building Futures. One of our main goals this year is to purchase a permanent community home that truly belongs to us—and future generations. Why It Matters: Building Youth: A hub to form strong Islamic identity, mentorship, and leadership. Building Community: A permanent home for prayer, halaqas, family programs, gatherings, and nurturing deeper community bonds. Building Foundation: Expanded educational programs with Imam Fuad to reach more hearts and minds. Building Legacy: A strong institution to serve future generations long after us. We look forward to seeing you on January 31st to Build Futures together. Please share this with a friend and earn the reward of: الدال على الخير كفاعله. 6.    When Genocide Is Normalized, Knowledge Becomes Resistance. "Islamophobia in the Age of Genocide." A powerful and necessary theme for our time. The Islamophobia Studies Center (ISC) invites you to its 2026 Annual Benefit Dinner to address the heartbreaking realities of today and fund the critical work needed to combat the forces of hate and oppression. Your presence is an act of solidarity. 🎤 Our Speakers Join three powerful voices who turn knowledge into resistance: Dr. Moustafa Bayoumi: Award-winning author and journalist (How Does It Feel to Be a Problem?). A leading mind on post-9/11 discrimination and media-fueled fear. Dr. Farah El-Sharif: Harvard/Stanford scholar of Islamic history. Her work challenges Eurocentric narratives and explores the transnational roots of Islamophobia. Peyrin Kao: UC Berkeley Lecturer and fearless activist known for his 38-day hunger strike in solidarity with Palestine. A voice for moral courage and accountability in academia. 8.    Dear Community Members and Friends, As-Salaamu Alaikum, On Monday, April 13, we’re returning to Sacramento for Muslim Day at the Capitoland I would love for you to join us. This isn’t just another date on the calendar. It’s a day to show up, claim our space, and remind elected officials who they serve. Why Attend? Every year, walking the Capitol halls reminds me why advocacy matters. When we show up together—students, parents, professionals, elders—we send a powerful message: Muslims are organized, engaged, and here to demand action. At a time when decisions in Sacramento shape our safety, our rights, and our families' future, showing up isn't optional. It’s vital. Nothing replaces being in the room. Turning Presence Into Power. I’ve seen the difference our presence makes. When we fill the Capitol, lawmakers listen. Bills shift. Narratives change. For many, it’s the moment they realize democracy isn’t a spectator sport. It belongs to those who claim it. Mark Your Calendar. Don’t sit this one out. Mark your calendar now and bring someone with you—a friend, a family member, or your local masjid group. Let them see the strength of our community in action. Stay Connected. Registration details and legislative priorities are coming soon. Remember: we don't just show up to be seen. We show up to change what’s possible. I hope to see you in Sacramento, in sha'Allah. In solidarity, Zahra Billoo, Esq. Executive Director, CAIR-SFBA
