Measure 50: YES

 

County Measure:

County of Santa Clara Measure A: NO

Wa'Alaykum Assalaam;
Br Hussam, thank you for sharing your preferences.
I disagree with your choice of NO vote for the County of Santa Clara Measure A.
I think it should be approved (Vote YES), given the fact that it is a temporary (5 yrs) tax, and it is an urgently needed stop-gap measure for the financial strains caused by federal Gov's cuts in funding that State and County gets.

Asalaam Alikum,

Thank you for your feed back. 

I am totally with funding county hospitals and clinics. However, the county has a huge deficit and instead of cutting spending they went the easy route of taxing residents for 5 years and the money goes to the general funds which means theoretically they can spend it on any project. They went the general fund way because it only required simple majority. Whereas a dedicated fund, requires 2/3 majority and has to have restricted spending and oversight.
