Assalamu alaykum,
Please join us with your family and friends each week
for a quick 30 mins interactive session
on Sunday
Oct 23, 11 am PT
at
icnacsj.org/fireside
This week,
inshaAllah,
we will continue the conversation with *Br. Jamal Khan*, who most recently ran for State Senate, on the topic of ‘Lessons Learned From
the Campaign Trail’. Jamal is a graduate of Harvard Law School and has worked for Nancy Pelosi, Kamala Harris, and the Obama White House.
The session will be moderated by
Br. Aziz Akbari,
current President of American Muslim and Friends Democratic Club and Boardmember of the Alameda County Water District, previously VP of the board and our young emerging leader from the community.
The recent primary election has seen a new wave of
interest from the Muslim community with enthusiastic participation and awareness of how local politics impact the our daily lives, the lives of our children and even far flung relatives in distant countries.
ICNA CSJ Action (Bay Area Chapter) has launched a weekly
fireside series with community leaders to help us learn about the impact of the elections and educate ourselves on how to vote in the upcoming elections in November.
