Urgent Appeal for living Liver-Donor for Zahin Ali

Dear Community Friends,

Salaam and Greetings to everyone.

I am appealing to you all on behalf of my brother, Zahin Ali who is a 34-year-old man, battling stage IV liver cancer. His situation is recurrence of cancer which requires a liver transplant needed for his long-term survival.

We need a volunteer to come forward to donate a section of their liver to support Zahin in his liver transplant.

Some basic criteria that must be met by the donor are:

Blood type O+ / O - Age 18 - 60, BMI > = 32, No history of major illness such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes.

The donor must be willing to undergo screening and evaluation and take 4-6 weeks off to undergo this surgery. The portion of the liver removed and donated is expected to grow back to nearly full capacity within about 3 months. The screening would be done first now, and It is likely that the evaluation and procedure will take place in NYC (New York City) in about 8-10 months from now. This procedure is also contingent on Zahin passing several other factors such as medical treatment first.
