Well, hello artists,
Even though I no longer have any official capacity with Mizel, I can't
resist connecting with you all a long as the group is still live. I
wish you all a Happy Shavuout. I hope that by connecting to the Torah,
our legacy, you will be inspired in your art, and will take it to a
new level.
I read an interesting article in te WSJ recently about how Jeff Koons
has a staff of 150! he does not make the work he sells. some modern
artists think it is beneath them to actually put brush to canvas and
their work sells for 5 figures! Now I know that famous artists have
used atelier artisans in past centuries, but I wonder what you think
about this. would you buy a piece of art signed by a famous artist
that you then found out never touched the piece? Would you produce
work that was made by someone else and you simply signed it? Or maybe
you don't even sign the work...
