No glass or alcohol at the fields.
Do not speed when driving to this tournament.
Seriously the houses along the access road have complained and there will be cops waiting to pull people over. So warn your team once they are off the highway to slow down
Only park in designated areas.
This was an issue at D1 Regionals so the venue owner is very touchy about this right now. There is plenty of parking, Volunteers will be directing traffic as you enter, no one wants a cranky field owner.
Keep the fields spotless!
We’ve got some of the best fields on the east coast. Lets keep them that way. Each team will get a garbage bag and will be expected to make sure the sidelines are clean before leaving. If you change fields and arrive at a messy sideline, alert one of the TDs immediately.
Water (Rain and Ponds)
Please tell your team to bring water. Each team will receive >20 gallons which should be plenty but better safe than sorry so don’t show up with empty water bottles.
Under NO circumstances should anyone go in the ponds near the field! This is a very very serious point.
Lightning. If you hear three consecutive horns please immediately get off the fields and go to your cars. USA Ultimate has a strict lightning policy.
Puppies!
Dogs are allowed but must be on a leash and picked up after.

DETOUR ON ROUTE 211!
Coming from the East, there is a detour on Route 211 and following the detour will cost you a lot more time. If you are traveling West on I-84 towards the fields then you will want to follow these directions so you can get to the fields as quickly as possible or if you are traveling from the East to any of the hotels West of the fields. If you are coming from the West heading East on Route 211, there will be signs for a detour, ignore them! the detour is past the fields and you are not affected by it. Please let me know if any of this is confusing or if you need help. Pass this information on to your drivers! Map is attached!
Take Exit 5 (NOT 5a) on I-84 West
Make a left onto Rte 208
Once you pass the highway make the first right onto Neelytown Rd
Follow to the end of the road and make a left onto Rte 416
Rte 416 merges with Rte 207
Make a right onto Stony Ford Rd
***About a mile down the road, stay Right to go onto Ohaire Rd.
***Once you continue on Ohaire Rd there is a Bart Bull Rd on your right, DO NOT TAKE THIS ROAD. You will not make it to the field as a train line will be blocking your path!
Continue on Ohaire Rd back to Route 211
Make a right to head towards Bart Bull Rd (the real entrance) or turn left to head towards Middletown (food, hotels, etc)
Just to clarify,Your team needs to be registered tonight for the event which pretty much everyone has done. Final rosters (separate from adding your team to the event) are due Wednesday!-ChrisOn Jun 13, 2015, at 7:51 AM, Chris Grenier <gio...@gmail.com> wrote:This is a reminder that all teams must be registered on USAU by the end of Monday! Hey all,I wanted to give you guys some more information about the tournament and answer some questions I have been getting. There is A LOT of information in this email, please read everything. We are still waiting on our final 2 teams. The tournament is a Select Flight event so USAU has asked me to reserve some spots for Select tier teams that they are reaching out to. If they do not find Select teams to fill the bids I do have a few teams waiting to take the spots. For a list of accepted teams you may go to this page to see:Northeast Mixed will be a USAU sanctioned tournament, this means that everyone will have to submit a roster and register their team on the USAU site. I have attached a help document from USAU and you may also visit this page if you need more help (http://play.usaultimate.org/members/help/). If you are having any problems, please let me know and I will try to assist you or get USAU to aid. This MUST be done by Monday June 15th!The field site will be at:Blue Sky Polo Club380 Bart Bull Rd.Middletown, NY 10941This site has been used for Metro NY sectionals for a long time now and recently organizers in the area have been using it for other big tournaments as well as college regionals. The owner of the fields had an issue during college regionals and has been very hesitant to rent us the fields. There will be very specific areas where you can park your car and if myself or one of the other TD’s instructs you to park somewhere, please listen or you may be barred from any more LIU or DiscNY tournaments. DO NOT SPEED on Bart Bull Rd! It is a small town and the neighbors will complain and possibly call the police. In addition do not swim in the pond near the fields, that is a big no-no.Be sure to clean up after yourselves. This seems silly that it needs to be said but sadly it does need to be said. We will be keeping track of who is on what sideline. You will be given trash bags, just put all garbage in the bags and leave it on the sideline. If you need to change sidelines you may leave any bags with trash, just tie it up and we will be picking up bags throughout the day. Also there is no glass or alcohol at the fields. Each team will be given bagels, fruit, bread, PB + J, and water for each day. There is no drinking water source at the field site so you will need to fill your water bottles ahead of time just in case. Each team will be getting a few cases of water at least.A trainer will be ready for both days for all of your injury needs before games start through the end of games. In case of serious injury or medical emergency, the closest hospital is:Orange Regional Medical Center707 East Main StreetMiddletown, NYfor more minor medical emergencies you can use their “Fast Track” service at the same address but the phone number for that is:
If you are looking for hotels there are a few hotels very close to the fields:Howard Johnson551 Route 211 EastMiddletown, NY 10940Super 8563 Route 211 EMiddletown, NY 10940Holiday Inn Express2105 NY-208Montgomery, NY 12549There are other options in Newburgh as well but those are a bit further away.
The schedule will be updated soon, the one on the USAU site was just a test. There will be pool play Saturday with bracket play Sunday. Everyone will have the ability to play at least 6 games through the weekend.
Preliminary Seeding are as follows, please let me know if you feel there should be any changes (please also keep in mind the other two spots may change seeding):1. The Muff ’N' Men2. Mixed Nuts3. Last Call4. The Townies5. Lake Avengers6. Grand Army7. Pandas8. FLI9. Unlimited Swipes10. Varsity11.Toaster12. Dix ‘Y’ Chix13. Dub Club14. Mister Rogers Neighborhood Watch15.16.
Thats about it for now. Let me know if you have any more questions. Be sure to start registering you teams on the USAU site and making sure you create an Event roster and not just a Team roster. If you will be having players under 18y/o please let me know.-Chris
