Hey there,

Do the police publish a list and / or pic of currently wanted
criminals? Also where can I find some good crime data in general?

Also do you guys need another moderator? We seem to be getting a bit
of Arabic spam, which is OK I guess, but Arabic sex shops are probably
not really on message for an NZ based Open data discussion group? I am
happy to help out.

The latest translates as:

The first store of its kind dedicated to Arab Sex Shop

Hi Jay,

Thanks for the message. We've just been sorting out the spam stuff -
sorry everyone!

It looks like the best place to get crime data is on the StatsNZ site:
http://www.stats.govt.nz/tools_and_services/tools/TableBuilder/recorded-crime-statistics/offences.aspx

I'm not sure about the wanted criminals data though. The only thing I
could find was Police 10/7 https://www.police.govt.nz/wanted/ten7
which isn't all that helpful.
You could try putting a data request through at Data.govt.nz
http://www.data.govt.nz/latest-data-requests/ ?

Cheers
Fiona and the DigitalNZ team.

OK:
The police have the two data sets

stolen cars ( updated 3x daily) .txt .csv ( it varies) but now seems to be
straight txt.

Terrorists and other downloaders :)

Police station Boundaries

The fireservice also do a spreadsheet of yesterdays callouts, if that helps
in any way
