The best idea is probably to ask a specific question, so someone can give you a specific answer. 

Having said that, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHXn3Kg2IQE talks through accessing web services in Android, and http://code.google.com/p/iosched/source/browse/android/src/com/google/android/apps/iosched/ui/HomeActivity.java is some example code. But I'm not an Android developer, so that's about as much use as I'll be.

You could also look at the MatchMaker http://www.squiz.co.nz/mix-and-mash-2011/mix-and-mash-form and see if you can find someone to help build your application for/with you.
