ControlALT+Delete in PC hardware is the Secure Attention Sequence (SAS). The SAS is a hardware-generated non-maskable interrupt (NMI) that can only be handled by the kernel and can't be suppressed (that's what "secure" and "non-maskable" mean.)

Windows can use this keyboard combo to ensure that the user logging in is physically present and to make spoofed login screens immediately obvious to the user (since they can't detect/respond to the sequence.)

Since an on-screen keyboard is software instead of hardware, it can't generate the SAS/NMI. The Windows Security Button provides this feature on tablets and other Windows devices which are not intended for use with a hardware keyboard.

I have had to enable this feature on tablets at work to enable bypassing of the Ctrl-Alt-Del screen without connecting a keyboard. In our case (Acer Iconia) we had to hold a special Windows key on the bottom of the tablet and press the power button simultaneously.

If you don't have a full keyboard on your whiteboard, then I would assume it has some sort of security button to compensate- as with tablets. You can probably work it out by trial and error: enable the security button feature, then log out and go through all the buttons until something unlocks it - or a combination of something + power unlocks it.

I have an Elitebook 840 G1 with a touchscreen. When it starts I get the message "Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete or use the Windows Security button to unlock". Also had this in Win 7 so I assume it has to do with the touch screen functionality.

I had the same issue with using Windows 7. For some reasons the installation detected the device as an "tablet" and assume that there is no Ctrl+Alt+Delete, thus offered me to use the "Windows Security button".

So could it be you had the same issue under Windows 7 and only upgraded the installation with windows 10? If yes that would explain why you still have the issues with Windows 10. I recently used the windows 10 recovery download ISO from here and drivers from here and reinstalled Windows 10, which solved that issue.

The idea for this post is to implement a button that will request a pop up login for authorisation. For instance, say there is a Fault Reset Button that will reset any error on a system. The idea is to request a login password that only an authorised/competent person will only be allowed to press it after the error investigation has been completed. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Yes you can do this in perspective, yes it will need scripting. Here is a link to Ignition 8 scripting functions

and here is a link to system.perspective.isAuthorized.

a generic example would be like so

Description

I have implemnted zoom web sdk with jwt app type, and creating instant meetings (type 1).

Security button and more button and view button on top is not working on the host side of the meeting.

Thank you for reaching out to the Zoom Developer Forum. It sounds like there may be some issues importing the CSS or JS dependencies required by the Web SDK. Please see our Sample Web App for a reference as to how you can implement the Web SDK.

MiniTool OEM program enable partners like hardware / software vendors and relative technical service providers to embed MiniTool software with their own products to add value to their products or services and expand their market.

The Windows Security button is introduced in tablets for easy access to the login screen. You can also use it on desktops. This post from MiniTool tells you how to enable and use the Windows Security button on a tablet/desktop.

For Windows tablets, if it has not been used for a long time or have just started up, you can press the Windows Security button to access your login menu. Then, you can enter your username and password to log in to your system.

On most Windows PCs, there is no exact Windows Security button, as they already have built-in keyboards. To access the Windows Security button feature, you need to press the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys together.

During a meeting, the host or co-host can quickly enable or disable certain settings from the meeting controls toolbar to secure the meeting and minimize disruption, including locking the meeting, enabling waiting room, and suspending participant activities. The host and co-hosts can also view the security features this meeting was scheduled with while in the meeting.

Most of these security settings are also available to enable in the Zoom web portal at the account, group, and user level prior to the meeting. If applied at the account, group, or user level, these settings will be applied in meetings by default. If the options are enabled or disabled and locked by an account admin at the account or group level, they will not be modifiable in-meeting by the host or co-host.

Note: The ability to report users is under the Participants icon in the meeting controls toolbar. This allows you to report a user to Zoom's Trust and Safety team. You will be able to select which user to report and provide details about the problem. You can also upload evidence such as screenshots.

When in a meeting, the host or co-host can check which security settings were enabled for this meeting. You cannot change these settings during a meeting, but they are meant to provide quicker and easier access to this information.

Zoom includes a new Security button that can be accessed anytime during your Zoom meeting. While all the features in the Security button are available elsewhere, the new button makes it much easier to find and secure Zoom during a meeting.

The Security button can be accessed in the bottom navigation of any Zoom meeting you are hosting. Clicking on the Security button will present six options. If an option is enabled, you will see a check mark appear on the side.

I have Google pixel six. This morning I turned my phone on and I went to do a manual scan and found the button was non-functional. I went to Google play. I did an application update for several apps but bitdefender was not listed. Then Bit defender said my phone was at risk as some changes have been made to my phone and that I should run a scan for malware. I tried to do this, but again my scanner is non-functional as the button will not work.Help please!

The chat button is functioning. First you need to disable any ad-blocker like uBlock Origin, AdBlock, AdBlock Plus etc. in your browser, next click on the chat button, wait for few seconds and the chat window will open.

I am having some issues using security rules to hide the edit button/duplicate sheet/create new sheet options in a published app for end users. I have seen this webinar --> SenseSecurityRules.mp4 - Google Drive that shows that the edit button and create sheet options can indeed be hidden. Is this still possible, or could it only be done in an older release? I have tried adding a line to CreateAppObjectsPublishedApp that checks the user directory, "and user.UserDirectory != "XYZDirectory" and I have tried simply disabling the rule all together. In either case, the end users can still see the edit button/duplicate sheet/create new sheet options, and can utilize all three. However, upon refresh of the page, if a sheet was added or duplicated, it will be gone. The same goes for bookmarks and stories, as they are also app objects (I know that I could use logic to exclude these). I saw another very recent thread where someone was having this exact issue --> -- This user suggests that this is the expected behavior of the rule being disabled (explicitly or via logic). Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Is it no longer possible to hide the aforementioned options in 3.2 SR2? Is duplicating a sheet not considered a create option/is it a read? I also implemented the example from Qlik --> -US/sense/1.1/Subsystems/ManagementConsole/Content/ServerUserGuide/SUG_Confi...

We sorted it out! Though nowhere in documentation, Qlik services must be restarted for thee change to take effect if a default rule is changed. However, services do not need to be restarted after a custom rule add of change. Upon restart, the rules commit back to the DB. Qlik is saying that this is working as designed -- feature, not a bug, etc. Hopefully they will add it to the documentation. Qlik technicians were helpful, thank you! Hopefully this will help those that had the same issue,

I'm working on trying to figure out this same question. One thing I can add is that some of my apps do not show Edit, Duplicate Sheet, and Create New Sheet...meaning I know it is possible, but the security rules seem to have no effect. I'm wondering if my Section Access policies are affecting the permissions.

We are following those same steps using the alternatively suggested method of user directories instead of custom properties, and the rule does indeed seem to suppress the app objects from being created, yet when we open the app, it still displays the options to "Create new sheet", "Edit", etc...

So I just got off the phone with a couple of Qlik techs -- my issue has to do with section access. Apparently there is some sort of conflict with the security rules, which is not well documented at all. No idea why they will not play well with one another. I was able to hide the edit button and such on an app without section access. Hopefully there will be some sort of fix, because it is a real basic end user scenario to use section access with security rules. Has anyone used the two together successfully (to hide the edit button and duplicate sheet and such)?

As you can customize each role giving them the ability to click on buttons or not, this list would be useless very soon after implementing AX. What you need would be to create your own tool (for example an SQL query) which could give you clear map of your Role to buttons authorizations at a defined time and you could then developp a tool analyzing this extraction to check if your map is compliant with SOD / Governance etc ...
