Since users usually keep their AC adapter connected while using their laptop, the battery is often in a state of high-power(98-100%) for extended length of time which causes a reduction in battery life.

B. Balanced Mode(Blue color): Stops charging when power is above 80% and resumes charging when power is below 78%. This mode is recommended when using the Notebook on battery power during meetings or conferences.

Q: Why does the battery have a short charging time at the Windows login when restarting the laptop after the AC adapter has already been connected for a period of time (The battery light will turn orange then will turn white/green light in a few seconds)?

Tired of your laptop running out of juice at the most inconvenient moments? We've all been there. Below are some tips and tricks to help you get the most out of the battery of your trusty ASUS laptop.

Windows 11 has your back with Battery Saver mode. This handy feature automatically optimizes various settings to stretch how long your battery lasts on a single charge. Simply left-click the battery icon on the right side of your taskbar, look for the Battery Saver icon, and toggle it on. It's a simple yet effective way to conserve power. Just keep in mind that performance might take a slight hit, but if you're on the move and need to get work done, it's totally worth it.

Start by adjusting the "Screen and sleep" settings to determine how quickly your screen dims when idle. Then, explore the "Power mode" drop-down menu and select "Best power efficiency", if available. Don't forget to explore other power-saving options and information in the "Power & battery" menu as well.

One more useful setting is "Video playback", which you can access via the "Apps" menu in Windows 11 settings. Once there, find the "Battery options" section, and switch to "Optimize for battery life".

Lowering your screen brightness can do wonders for long-lasting battery. Click on the battery icon in the taskbar and adjust the brightness slider to find the right balance. If your ASUS laptop has dedicated function keys (f4 and f5), you can use them to control brightness, too. Find a comfortable brightness level that doesn't strain your eyes.

The brighter the screen contents, the more battery drained. So, why not go dark? Windows 11 and many apps offer a Dark mode option. To engage it in Windows, head over to the "Personalization" menu in Settings and choose "Dark" from the drop-down menu. You can also check if your favorite apps have their own Dark mode settings.

Peripherals are great, but unfortunately, they draw power from your laptop. When you're trying to save battery, it's best to unplug those. Your ASUS laptop comes with a fantastic ErgoSense keyboard and a smooth touchpad, so you may be able to ditch external peripherals and minimize battery drain. If do you need to use a peripheral such as an external hard drive, don't forget to unplug it once you're done using it.

Open the "Power & battery" menu in Windows 11 settings and check out the "Battery usage" list. Identify the most power-hungry apps and click the three dots next to their icons. From there, you can manage their background activity, restrict location access, and set them to "Power optimized" or "Never" in the "Let this app run in the background" setting.

Internet connection is an energy drainer. When you're using your ASUS laptop on battery, consider disconnecting from the web when you can. It's as simple as enabling Airplane mode. Click on the WiFi icon in the taskbar and toggle the Airplane mode switch.

Head to the System tab in Windows 11 Settings, find the Display settings, and locate "Advanced display." If your laptop boasts a high refresh rate, like 120 Hz, toning it down to 60 Hz can save battery power while still providing a pleasant viewing experience.

To check your battery health, open the MyASUS app (available for all ASUS laptops), click "Customer Support," and select the "Battery problems" icon. Plug in your power adapter, click "Checkup," and let the app analyze your battery health. The detailed report will be displayed in the "Result" section. If any issues are found, don't hesitate to reach out to ASUS customer service via the MyASUS app to get help with swapping the battery to a new one.

Some Windows applications consume more battery power than others, and that may affect the battery life. Please try to measure battery life in Safe Mode and compare it with operating in Windows operating system. Visit the article to learn more about entering the Safe Mode: How to enter Safe Mode.

There are many different areas to consider for battery. Unfortunately, that means you will be hopping around and modifying all sorts of things to achieve results. Also, keep in mind that there are multiple vendors that can cause battery usage. Asus, Microsoft and others may have processes that are inefficient for a laptop. Unfortunately, most guides stop at disabling CPU Boost. I look at this guide as a comprehensive guide to help you when those basic things aren't working.

Disable these items in Task Scheduler. Task scheduler is a background Windows Service that runs tasks at different times. Some services can be marked to not run on battery, but I have found Windows doesn't do a great job enforcing this midway through an execution. This is due to some of these programs run forever until they die, then get spun up again but the scheduler.

When using these Power Options, make sure to select Silent mode in Armory Crate. This is the profile you will want to use on battery and it makes Performance mode stay full powered if you need it. We only want these settings on battery, and it is easier to switch between Slient and Performance modes than it is to add/remove these settings all the time.

Hi. was talking to a friend who owns HP Omen about how short gaming laptop's batteries are. She said her computer has a mode where she could save her battery built in (just like the armoury crate). Was wondering if there is any mode at all (beside the power saving that comes with windows) that also saves a lot of battery since I have to carry this around my uni campus (which is huge lol) and don't wanna add any extra weight.

You might consider disconnecting all unneeded USB devices after reviewing their power options, as well as setting the wireless on battery to some power-saving mode, but I don't believe that this alone will fix the problem.

I recently installed Ubuntu 20.04 LTS on my Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5 and realized that battery life in Ubuntu is not as good as Windows. The battery drains faster in Ubuntu. I have seen the questions in Ask Ubuntu about this, but I haven't found anything that regards Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. I've done some research and found out that the battery drain is because most vendors optimize their drivers for Windows and with Linux, you have to hope that the kernel drivers do the job (which they usually do). After that, I researched how to increase my battery life and almost all sources I found recommended installing tlp or powertop or something similar to these. But I have a few questions.

Lower your screen refresh rate. If it comes with say, 165 Hz by default, lower it to 60Hz. Lowering refresh rate significantly improves the battery life. Use cvt and xrandr to create a custom refresh rate.STEPS:

Saw videos and reviews saying that it is "battery king" and "battery life is not bad". I am coming from the S22 which has really **bleep**ty battery life => I have to carry a power bank in case it dies after work around 6pm. I couldnt pay for taxi once with phone just because it decides to die at around 8%..

You can help lower your device's carbon footprint while helping your battery last longer. The Energy recommendations section is a quick place to go when you're looking for a collection of settings that affect your power usage.

Select Apply all or individually adjust settings that are likely to use more power than average, such as screen brightness, screen saver, and how long your device can be inactive before it goes to sleep or turns off. To learn about each setting, see Learn more about energy recommendations.

Select Start > Settings > System > Power & battery . If you want battery saver to turn on whenever the battery falls below a certain level, select Battery saver, then choose the battery level you'd like. To turn on battery saver now and leave it on until the next time you plug in your PC, select Turn on now next to Battery saver , or select the Battery icon in the notification area, then select the Battery saver quick setting.
