Mr A. Raghavendra Rao, Assistant Administrative Officer, Accounts Section attended training programme on Administrative & Accounting procedures for Administrative officers of Engineering colleges(Batch-I) under TEQIP-II from May 21- 23, 2014 at Dr. MCR HRD Institute of AP, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The programme commenced on the first day, at 9.30 am on the topics -- Administrative skills for officers - Management Vs Administration - Functions of management levels etc. It was quiet interesting to explore the new arenas of information. The resource person was Dr. A. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Associate Professor, Human resources, Institute of public enterprise. After tea break, the topic was on Finance Management by Dr.K.Swamy , Professor, MCR HRD IAP, This has given deep insights of financial matters and its governance. Post lunch session started at 2.15 pm, hands on training in computers - Basics of MS Office which was very essential to maintain the records with complete automation. After evening tea, an interaction session held with all the participants to clarify their doubts.

The second day, session started at 9.30am on the topic Accounting procedures & Reporting - Accounting and how to maintain principles - ledger-cash book etc. by Sri Sammaiah, Consultant. It was very informative. Post lunch sessions, Hands on training - Tally software by Sammaiah, consultant. He gave essential information on tally application and how to utilize it effectively to maintain accounts. After tea break, the session was on corporate communication by Sri Sumitha Ayodhya IPos, Deputy Director General. She focused on how to communicate with officials in professional platform. How to work effectively in an organization, as communication plays a vital role and every staff should learn these skills in order maintain good relations.

On third day, the topic was on Stores purchase procedure and management - procurement - Budget approval - Appropriation Vs appropriation - Centralized purchases by Dr.K.Swamy , Professor , Dr.MCR HRD. The session covered all the important factors related to management accounting. After tea break, the session was on record keeping and compliance report - records to be maintained by the college and how to submit to UGC, AICTU University by Siddoju Babu Joint Registrar of Kakatiya University. He gave us valuable information on record keeping. Post lunch session was an interactive session & valediction by Dr.K.Tirupataiah, IFS, Addl. Director, General. The session is fruitful, where were able to clarify doubts on many issues.

In nutshell, the programme was very excellent to update knowledge. They insisted all the colleges to start using Tally Software, but we have been using it since 10 years. The training was on Account management and behavioral management skills. Especially, effective maintenance of accounts for TEQIP-II and to do good performance.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to respected Secretary & correspondent , beloved Principal, Deans, Vice Principal madam, TEQIP-II Coordinator, SFO, SAO (A&P) and SAO (G) for providing a great opportunity to undergo training to upgrade knowledge on the essential parameters.
