After years of forcing you to select Exit Netflix at the bottom of it's menu (instead of just hitting Back again like most other channels), Netflix has now upped the ante. Now you have to scroll to the bottom of the menu, then over to the extreme right to leave it the right way.
Thanks, I was pretty sure, but didn't want to mess it up. Probably only watch Netflix on my computer after this, though. Anyone with even a little sense of how the internet works these days knows that every app maker wants you to leave their app running. If the app can collect data on you, it will. Netflix made it more difficult to exit for a reason, and it obviously wasn't to help their customers. Not hard to figure that one out.
Oh I dunno. Sometimes I press back one too many times and end up being annoyed that I'm dumped at the home screen when I didn't intend to go there. I like pressing home when I want to go to home, myself.
I'm typically using the Samsung "One Remote" (no "Home" button) so this added button pushing to exit the Netflix channel is indeed annoying. I appreciate that on the other channels I watch you can "back" out to an exit confirmation and quickly be back to the Home screen. I wish Netflix would do the same.
Yes, I figured that out accidentally myself and the home button has worked for me. It brings a pop-up windows asking whether you want to exit netflix with yes and no options. Seems like one has to learn all these little quirks of the system to make it work; makes my wife prefer just connecting our laptop via HDMI out to our system and use that instead of the WD Live plus!
Purchased a KDL42W653 a couple of days ago and having some problems with Netflix. If I press exit and choose yes to exit, it hangs on the exiting screen until I reboot the tv. I have tried restoring to factory settings but that did nothing. Can anybody offer any advice?
Video in the Netflix app on X1 is streamed over the internet. For this reason, if you do not properly exit the Netflix application, it will continue to use your allocated data as part of your Xfinity Internet data usage plan.
To determine what amount of usage you can expect for a given hour of streaming in this situation, please see estimates on the Netflix website help.netflix.com/en/node/87. Netflix estimates about 1 GB of data per hour for each stream of standard definition video, and up to 3 GB per hour for each stream of HD video. On this same Netflix help center article you can also read Netflix recommendations on how to control your Netflix data usage.
Netflix can`t start play and Pi-hole stops working and the internet is dropping off because of dns is not working. After I exit Netflix pi-hole starts to respond again and internet (DNS) starts to work again. Using FTLDNS and DoH. (Using Netflix from an Samsung SmartTV).
Okay, so this very much sounds like it is no FTLDNS problem at all, but a problem of Cloudflare's DoH and/or dnscrypt. FTLDNS doesn't care (as much as dnsmasq didn't, either) if you are sending your queries to 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8, 9.9.9.9 or wherever on whatever port.
Looking at @Jason_A's log excerpt, it seems like there are no new incoming queries to the Pi-hole after 13:16:43. However, FTLDNS is still running, as you can see in the messages that it stored queries in the database.
This might not necessarily help anything... But I have seen no issues with cloudflare DNS using DNS over TLS (via getdns and stubby). Maybe it would be useful to try the same use case but with the DNS over TLS to see if the prolem persists?
No Exit is a 2022 American thriller film directed by Damien Power from a screenplay by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Taylor Adams. It stars Havana Rose Liu as a recovering drug addict who discovers a kidnapping in progress while stranded at a rest stop during a blizzard. Danny Ramirez, David Rysdahl, Dale Dickey, and Dennis Haysbert co-star as the four suspects while Mila Harris plays the victim. No Exit was released on February 25, 2022, on Hulu by 20th Century Studios. It received mixed reviews from critics, who categorized it as a "reasonably diverting" popcorn movie.
Recovering addict Darby Thorne learns that her mother is in the hospital after suffering a brain aneurysm, and is undergoing emergency surgery. She escapes rehab and drives to Salt Lake City. While stopped in the middle of the road, Corporal Ron Hill tells her that the interstate is closed because of a developing blizzard. She agrees to stay overnight at a local visitor's center. The only people inside are Ash, Lars, and married couple Ed and Sandi. Darby goes outside to look for a cellphone signal and ends up discovering a kidnapped girl in a van belonging to one of the people inside.
Playing a round of Bullshit, Darby uses her knowledge of the van's license plate to question the others and deduces that Lars is the kidnapper. She goes to the bathroom and uses a hole in the wall to go back outside. Darby breaks into the van and talks to the girl, promising to save her. Unaware of her presence, Lars enters the van and reveals the girl's name to be Jay. Inside, Ed grows suspicious of Lars's strange behavior. As Lars exits the van to bring Jay some food, Darby goes back inside the cabin through the hole in the wall.
Jay has Addison's disease, which can cause an adrenaline overdose if she becomes too stressed. In the bathroom, Darby tells Ash about Jay. Ash agrees to help her. When Darby goes outside, however, Ash reveals that he is Lars's brother and an accomplice in the kidnapping. Ash takes Darby back inside and threatens to kill her if she informs Ed and Sandi about Jay. Outside, Jay cuts herself free and runs into the woods. In the bathroom, Darby attacks Ash, but he gains the upper hand. Lars goes through the hole in the wall and stops his brother from strangling Darby. In the struggle, Darby takes Ash's keys.
Ash and Lars force Darby to help them look for Jay. Ash reveals that they are transporting her to their Uncle Kenny, who runs a human trafficking ring, while Lars ignorantly believes it to be "finding them better homes". Darby uses a flashlight to blind the kidnappers and runs away. Ash fires his firearm, alerting Ed and Sandi. Ed and Sandi find Jay unconscious in the snow. Darby goes inside the cabin and tells Ed and Sandi about the kidnappers. After locking the entrance, Ed negotiates with Ash and Lars. He promises to give them the car keys if they give Jay the medicine she needs to survive. As Darby hides the keys, Ash and Lars cover the cabin in gasoline. Jay wakes up and identifies Sandi as her maid. A flashback reveals that Sandi helped Ash and Lars take Jay from her home under the agreement she'd be ransomed, unaware of the truth. She agreed to meet with the kidnappers to give them Jay's medicine. In the present, Sandi lets Ash and Lars inside.
After learning that Darby is the only person who knows where the keys are, Ash kills Ed and Sandi and uses a nail gun to staple Darby to a wall. Her phone receives a text message; Ash reads it and informs her that her mother has died. Another text reveals that Corporal Ron is on his way to the cabin. When Ash threatens to hurt Jay, Darby reveals the key's whereabouts. Ash gives his gun to Lars before leaving to search for the keys. Darby tells Jay to turn off the lights.
Darby snorts heroin to numb the pain receptors to pull the nail out of her hand. With Lars distracted, she takes his gun as Ash returns. During a standoff with Darby holding Lars hostage, Jay hits Ash's nailgun with a hammer, thus shooting a nail in Lars' forehead. Darby and Jay run outside to make their escape. Ash punctures their vehicle and sets the cabin on fire. After Corporal Ron arrives, Darby shoots Ash but Ron sees her as the threat and shoots Darby (not to kill). Ash stretches out to take her weapon and shoots Ron dead. He climbs on top of Darby and puts the gun to her head. Darby uses a screwdriver to puncture his neck, killing him. Darby uses Ron's radio to call for help. In a flash-forward, Darby's sister Devon visits her in rehab at 48 days.
On October 10, 2017, it was announced that 20th Century Fox had optioned the feature rights to the 2017 novel by Taylor Adams. Logan writer Scott Frank was attached to develop and produce the film adaptation.[1] By March 12, 2019, Damien Power had signed on to direct the film, with Ant-Man's Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari adapting the screenplay.[2] On June 29, 2021, Danny Ramirez, Dennis Haysbert, Havana Rose Liu, David Rysdahl, Dale Dickey, and Mila Harris were confirmed to star and it was announced that production had wrapped in New Zealand.[3] During post-production, Marco Beltrami and Miles Hankins composed the score.[4]
Initially intended for a theatrical release by 20th Century Studios, the film was instead distributed by Hulu in the United States and released on February 25, 2022. It was released on Disney+ in international markets and Star+ in Latin America on the same date.[3][5] The film will be released on Disney+ Hotstar in Southeast Asia as well as India on a later date.
According to Whip Media's TV Time, No Exit was the sixth-most-streamed movie across all platforms, in the United States during the week of February 25 to February 27, 2022,[6] and the ninth during the week of March 4 to March 6, 2022.[7]
On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 62% of 76 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 6/10. The website's consensus reads: "No Exit isn't quite a white-knuckle ride, but it may provide just enough mileage for viewers seeking reasonably diverting popcorn thrills."[8] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 54 out of 100, based on 11 critics, indicating "mixed or average" reviews.[9]
Frank Sheck of The Hollywood Reporter found that Damien Power skillfully manages to capture the plot mechanics through his direction, and complimented the performances of the actors, especially Liu's as a lead character.[10] Jeff Ewing of Forbes praised the pace of the film and the performances of the actors, although stating that the film provides characters that are under-written, which creates a lack of emotional weight.[11]
