Dudes, et al,

Coach Hartman has been nominate to the CHSAA Hall of Fame.  His selection will hinge on the support of his fan club.  If he has touched your life, and you would like to support his nomination, please ping me back or contact Jim, Jr.  I asked Jim to send me a little background about the process.  If you would like to talk about it, give me a call.

Joe,

Thanks for taking the time to meet with me and talk about my dad’s application for the CHSAA Hall of Fame.  As we talked about, I believe my dad is deserving of the CHSAA Hall of Fame and I’d like to get a great application for CHSAA.  Here’s the CHSAA Hall of Fame web site for the Hall of Fame.  http://www.chsaa.org/about/hall.asp  Currently he’s in the Colorado Springs Sports Hall of Fame, the Colorado High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and the Palmer High Hall of Fame.  Also your 1981 football team was inducted into the Colorado Springs Hall of Fame.

Given his record at football he’s certainly worthy of being inducted into the Hall of Fame.  As we discussed, I’m putting together an application for him but I need some help.  Any application needs to have two recommendation letters.  I think just two would be limiting and we can submit as many as we want.  In talking with Bert Borgmann at CHSAA, he stated more letters of recommendation will help in the review process.

I’m reaching out to several people I know who might be willing to write a recommendation letter.  Bert stated that letters should focus on the entirety of my dad’s work including the teaching and administration side.  As we talked, I have had several people come up and talk about what a great influence my dad had on their life.  It’s amazing that any trip to the supermarket I always hear a some say “Hi Coach”.  That’s probably longevity but also he was good part of many people’s lives.

The help I need is for you to pass around this information and ask if you know of anyone who is willing to write a letter of recommendation.  Your 1981 team has such a great, tight-knit alumni group I thought you could reach some guys who might be willing to write a recommendation letter.

If you do reach someone who’s willing and needs some help getting started, please direct them to me.  I would be delighted to hear from someone supporting my dad but also would love to hear their “story” personally.  My phone is 303.908.5550 and my email is ji...@hollanddev.com

Once again, thanks for your time and your help.
