MIT inventor upgrade = Companion doesn't work (error 1103)

I was doing fine testing with companion until the update hit and now i cant connect at all...im using an old phone ....L90 Android 5.0.2, and im connecting via wifi, the easiest way.
im not sure how to fix this issue, i updated my MIT inventor companion app, but its not working. i can only see is this:

 ERROR 1103: "Unable to post the key or put the text...here is the screenshot

Same problem here :(
my device is xiaomi redmi note 4x
app is updated to latest version
never had issues before

Not working on Huawei P10 lite. Issues started to come after upgrade to v2.48.

I am not getting an error (I updated the companion app)... with the new update my students (nor myself) can connect using the AI companion.  We even attempted to click on "Use Legacy Connection."

Any suggestions on how to fix this?  We are currently trying to work on an AP performance task.
