I recently found out that FireBase resets the project bucket to the name of the project by default if you save a new name or sometimes if you close or open the project.

This really messed me up as the Project was reading fine one time and the next, it didn't. I'm not using the project bucket designation.

The solution was to set the Project Bucket to " " (a blank text entry) on the initialize screen command. This way each time the screen is run, it will override the project bucket reset.

I think this is a bug and should be addressed in a future update.

From the Firebase documentation:  https://docs.google.com/document/d/17OGJF8VwbOYkXCual8I1JIBLCHhnCcgHj6N_Cfnlb4A/edit#heading=h.37rrxtruvui0

The following is from the original Firebase documentation:
The last property, the “ProjectBucket” defaults to the name of the project. You can change this. If two projects share the same ProjectBucket, then they share variables as long as both projects belong to the same MIT App Inventor account.

and probably still applies since Firebase was last updated in January 2017.   As far as App Inventor is concerned, Firebase with AI is still experimental.

The MIT technical staff will see your note  Bob.

Steve
