Dear Friends,
I'm designing a "quick and dirt" app for some friend with disabilities.
It's basic some buttons that triggers messages on the speaker to alert someone nearby.

I used to play with espeak on Windows and Linux platforms, but on App Inventor how my I set the country and language for Brazilian/Portuguese.

I tried every country code i found and every language i saw on Internet, like:
BRZ pt-br
BRA pt-br
POR pt-br

No one seems to work. I know google TTS api supports portuguese language and brazilian accent, but i can't find the three letters for the country and the language specification to put on the settings of the TextToSpeech object.

Any hint or comment are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Try

Portuguese, Brazil (pt_BR) 2.3
Portuguese, Portugal (pt_PT)
These might work.  Android devices are case sensitive. These possibilities  show a case difference from what you posted.   You may have to set both the language and the country.

The AI2 TextToSpeech documentation does not list Japanese and Korean or Turkish, however the TextToSpeech control does support them on at least some phones.  On what phones the language is supported may depend on whether you have the latest TTS engine on your device  and/or the operating system version.

Did you get your device working with Portuguese?

Steve
