auto updating app inventor apps

Hi everyone,

I've found App Inventor to be quite useful for simple apps.

I now need to add an auto-update function for newer versions.

I found this guide at http://sites.google.com/site/theairepository/faq/how-to-s/auto-updater

but I got lost at Step 2 because ironically the guide seems out of date with the latest version of App Inventor

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
