to MIT App Inventor Forum

Unintentionally or unknowingly when I published my 5 apps with google, I asked for : android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE.
Question 1 : Is this built-in with AI2; could I remove it and how?
Question 2 : Do I really need it it, if all data from my apps stay on the user's phone and are never communicated elsewhere?

do you use the texting or the phone call component?

you can modify the manifest and remove permissions manually using AppToMarket, more information see here https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/apptomarket
