I tried used a GIF image in AI2, can show the movie in viewer but can't show movie after installed on my phone.
AI2 does not support GIF?

AI2 supports basic GIF format, however it does not support animated GIFs.   Users can simulate the 'movie' effect of an animated gif using multiple images instead. Some picture manipulation software may allow you to separate the individual 'frames' of an animated GIF.  You can use them and cycle through them if you want to expend tht much effort.

Sorry, animated gifs do not respond in AI2; multiple images is an imperfect work-around.

Hey Taifun, i tried this and the gif is static even when using the webviewer. are you getting the same if you try it now or do you actually need to save the gif to your sd card and load it in the app for it to work? i basically tried to view a gif file online in the webviewer.

I just tested the example again and it works on Nexus 5 running Android 4.4.4 using the companion app and 
1. an animated gif in the assets of the app and
2. an animated gif on a server
