Hi,
I downloaded the source file (.aia) and used the same to replicate one of the screen.
procedure followed to replicate screen are
 1. rename aia to zip
 2. under src replicate all three files of a screen adn rename both inside and file name
 3. zip it back and rename to .aia

but when i tried importing the project i got error saying
"The selected project is not a project source file! Project source files are aia files."

Are you trying to use AI or AI2?

You should NOT rename the aia to zip.    The aia is a type of zip file but it can only be used with AI2.    If you are using AI Classic, the original App Inventor, the source file is a zip file.   The two files are not compatible.

You can not convert an AI file to AI2   or AI2 to AI they way you are trying.   Sorry.   A conversion tool is being developed but it is not available now and perhaps will not be available until the Fall.   I

Hi All,
Thanks @Taifun.
Even though I followed above link earlier also I did one mistake.
Instead of copying modified screens from one folder to zip file, I just zipped the folder where I had modified the screens. Hence it was failing.

Now I am able to duplicat the screens easily. Thanks for your quick response. I suggest to highlight above portion in that post so that people don't make same mistake as i did.
Best is blindly follow the post without any modifications..

Thanks all again.

Further explanation for Steve:
The renaming the aia to zip is to allow Windows Explorer to open the archive as it does not recognize the aia extension as being a zip archive by another name.
Once the changes are made to the archive it is renamed back to the aia extension.

I believe my error was extracting the files, change them and archive it back. I'll try just dragging them out, make the changes and drag them back then change it back to the AIA extension.

I will let you all know how it goes.

Thanks!
