More control over Video Player

Hi together,

I have read (Dez 2014), that for the Video Player it´s not possible to star playing automatically (without user´s interaction) or contol start-stop secuences of video.

I Think, it would be a good posibility for many appliacations (f.e. educational apps ant tutorials with embedded cuestionaries) and I want to encourage the development team to ampliate the posibilities of contorling this issue. (video player)

that's not correct, just use the Videoplayer.Start method in Screen.Initialize event

Hi Taifun,

Sorry, but it doesn´t work in my enviroment. It starts, but it doesn´t plays the video file. The user hat to touch the screen (or not, if in "designer" by default "visible"), and start with the reproduction manually.

I have tried with several video types, and calling the method from different points: Directly in "initialize", or in a Procedure, or Triggering with a timer... it works always in the same way.... (I didn´t test all posibilities, but a lot...)

I read something from you where you says, that´s the way it´s thougt.(It was dezember 2014, perhaps something has changed!

If you know some new over this Item... you are wellcome ! :-)

For me OK, I try to use your tip witht the animated Gif over the WEB- issue, thank you for this also!

yes, you re correct, it seems to not work directly in the Screen.Initialize event

as workaround just use a clock component (timer interval = 100ms) to start the video a little bit later... see screenshot and example project attached
