Blank white screen while trying to run app inventor

- I am using MIT App Inventor Classic,
- Windows 8 on a Microsoft surface pro
Chrome browser, also same results using foxfire browser.
I've been running app inventor for over a year on a surface pro mostly. My surface pro did an automatic update and now when I go to the url all I get is a blank white screen. I can go to another computer and bring up the site and run my projects. But it runs fast on my surface pro. I've tried foxfire, I even upgraded from Windows 8 to windows 8.1: I removed and reloaded Java as well as appinventor setup software. I still get the same thing. The screen will start and then stop loading at a blank screen. I go to another desktop and it loads (very slowly) but it loads. Please help!

There have been no changes to App Inventor Classic associated with the release of App Inventor 2.   What "automatic update" with your surface pro do?  Was that from Microsoft?

Have you tried Chrome (assuming that runs on a surface pro).
