how to read from xml file and write to it

any examples showing how to read data from xml file and create another xml file?

where is the xml file is located in the phone?

some information on the internet mentioned this:

file:///mnt/sdcard/AppInventor/assets/File.xml

file:///android_asset/File.xml

or 

/File.xml

but still cannot find the file on the phone.

an xml file, which is uploaded as asset into your App Inventor project?
