Good day someone,

I'm Jonghyun Lim who am a Korean, here South Korea.

In recent, I am on the learning the App Inventor2 with the book, App Inventor2 (2nd Ed.)(David Wolber, Hal Abelson, et al., 2015))
I have started to learn the App Inventor  3 weeks ago, so I'm a beginner.

I have a question for Texting with App Inventor2, which is a too lower level with block coding.

I made a Designer and Block coding as attached below.
   - one: simple texting
   - the other: auto response for texting

But those don't work. I don't know why they don't work. I'm stuck with this problem for almost three days. I can not solve this yet.

 FYI,
    1. My phones(Model: LG K10) have Android ver 5.1.1 and ver 8. These cannot work for Texting of the program with App Inventor2.
    2. I tried to let the app work to text after deselecting the Notifications option(Display new message notification) of default Messaging app and deselecting default Messaging app as the option of Default message app.

On a lot of youtube references and a lot of books, they have been saying and teaching that the same code(App Inventor2) as attached below can work to text.
Of course, I got the video, http://www.appinventor.org/content/CourseInABox/textingLocation/NoTexting.  But I can't on my phone.

Of course, Ch1-HelloPurr, Ch2-PaintPot, Ch3-MoleMash of the book as I mentioned above, these all well worked on my phone. But just texting doesn't work.

I hope someone who could solve this problem let me free from this problem.
I really want someone to help me with this problem.

And Does anyone know if the recent Android OS has been changed that App Inventor2 isn't able to work for Texting?

I'll be happy you let me get any reply to my problem.

Thank you.
Best,

Jonghyun Lim.

Hello Anke,

Thank you for your reference.
I saw the Google policy for an app with SMS, which you attached.

Thanx.

Jonghyun Lim.
